From February 28 through March 7, 2015, a team will provide for the physical needs, as well as the spiritual needs, of the Honduran people. Follow us as we document the preparations and the planning, the training and the team-building, the going and the growing as we serve the LORD Jesus, our One and Only Savior, and the people of Honduras.

Our 2012 and 2013 missions are here as well ...

29 days and counting ...

Hello All,

Well, we officially leave for Honduras in thirty (29) days!!!

We need your prayers now and even more so as it gets closer and closer.  Your prayers for strength, encouragement and inspiration are greatly appreciated as well as safety during our travels and time spent in Honduras.  Please pray for Brian, Ben and I specifically but also for the entire mission team too.  Each of us is a different person with something unique and God-given to bring to the people of Honduras.  Please pray that we will be triumphant for the LORD, that we will not be tripped up by Satan as he attempts to make us ineffective.  Please pray that we are completely lead by the SPIRIT, now and when we are in Honduras!  Please pray that the Hondurans we come in contact with will be touched by the same SPIRIT.

I can’t recall if this has been mentioned before so my apologies if this is redundant but for our time in Honduras, we, along with many other team members, will be using a Bible that has both English and Spanish translations.  The English is on the left side of the page, while the Spanish is on the right side of the page.  We have tabbed specific passages in the Bibles that will aide us as we share the Gospel with those who come through Evangelism.  Some of us have even color coded our tabs to coordinate with a theme, such as The Roman’s Road, the A-B-C- method or topics like “belief” or “sins being erased”.  We have underlined the English passages and highlighted the Spanish passages; in this way, the appropriate verse will be easy to point out and read.  It may even be more effective, if the Honduran can read, for him/her to read God’s Word in his/her own language.

And that reminds me … do YOU know the Roman’s Road?  Do YOU know about the A-B-C method?

In the Roman’s Road method, you basically follow a series of passages from the book of Romans:
·         You start with the fact that WE are ALL sinners.
o   Romans 3:10 – As it is written, there is no one righteous, not even one.
o   Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
·         Because we are sinners, there is a consequence.
o   Romans 6:23a – For the wages of sin is death (total separation from God forever)
·         However, there’s a pair of BUTs (insert laughter for those of you who get it …).
o   Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (he didn’t wait until we deserved it, which would be “never”).
o   Romans 6:23b – But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
·         What do you do when you are given a gift? (you’re probably really excited and you want to tell everyone what you got, right?).
o   Romans 10:9-10 - If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
·         How can you be sure it worked?
o   Romans 10:13 – Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
  • We are secure in Jesus
    • Romans 8:35-38 - Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A-B-C – it’s as easy as that!

A is for Admit/All; Accept that you are a sinnerRomans 3:23-For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

B is for Believe; Believe that Jesus died for your sins - Acts 16:31-Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household. John 3:16-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

C is for Confess; Tell someone that you believeRomans 10:9-10- If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
