From February 28 through March 7, 2015, a team will provide for the physical needs, as well as the spiritual needs, of the Honduran people. Follow us as we document the preparations and the planning, the training and the team-building, the going and the growing as we serve the LORD Jesus, our One and Only Savior, and the people of Honduras.

Our 2012 and 2013 missions are here as well ...

2015 Mission to Honduras Summary - Reflection

Well, this is the end of the updates on Team #91RE's mission trip to Honduras and we hope that you've enjoyed all that we've tried to share with you regarding our service there.

Our supporters have meant the world to us as they/you have played a huge part in the success of our time spent in Honduras.

Because of your support, ...

... these missionary families and more were blessed and encouraged by simple (even quirky) gifts of food and toiletries, fellowship of other believers, and affirmation that what they are doing for the LORD is making a difference.
(yes, I totally took these photos off Facebook - we're friends!)

... these kids made new friends, had fun, felt accepted and engaged, had the truth of Salvation reiterated, ... and unknowingly challenged each team member to imagine life "in their shoes" ...

... we had access to ALL the bananas we could possibly want ...

... these friends got to be reunited ... even if for just one week!!

... these people received the gift of improved living conditions and a sense of better well-being ...

From our perspective, (us leaders, that is), we got to not only participate in God's work, serve people in need, encourage fellow servants of our LORD,  ... but we also got to watch our team members G-R-O-W!!

All of us, team members, ... we're all Christians, but we're still just people and putting all sorts of people together, in another country, a different culture, different food, living arrangements unlike what we're used to ... it can, understandably, be a challenge.

But God is amazing ...

Ordinary people came out of their shells, removing barriers and blinders ...

New relationships amongst believers were created ...

... relationships that are continuing to grow ...

... and some experienced for the first time the joy of being part of something that means something ...

... all that happened because of you!!

WE THANK YOU ...

... FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE MONKEY PILE!!!

... in the end, we had to leave the work we did, the people we served and the experience we had ... but we came back and found that our boundaries have expanded and now we really ARE part of a bigger family, connected by a common thread, shared experience and mutual teamwork.

GOD BLESS YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR MISSION - From Wisconsin to Honduras - !!!

Honduras Mission - Part 7 - How does one have FUN in HONDURAS?

So, it wasn't ALL WORK in Honduras.  We also had the opportunity for some moments of FUN!  One afternoon, we were taken not too far away where there is some rock walls and a small river flowing through.  It eventually flows into a waterfall; in the rainy season, it must be quite something!

A few of our team members decided that it might be FUN to jump into the river!

Molly was not among those who wanted to take the plunge!
Good girl, Molly!!

Several of us took the opportunity to get a picturesque photo!
Way to photo-bomb, Ben!!  (LOL!)

Our beloved Matt and Jenny ... oh how we miss you guys!!

Doug and Leah ... with the cutest expressions!!
It was nice to be able to see another part of Honduras.

So, you might wonder what is going on here.  This is one of our teammates, Paul ... also known as Pyro Guy Paul.
Why is he called that, you ask??

Paul happens to be a licensed pyrotechnician!!
What are the odds??

So, by request and opportunity, it was decided that The Ranch would
have its very own Fireworks Show!!

There is a business man in Comayagua who sells fireworks so after a visit Paul and his crew had what they needed put on a spectacular show!

They were able to build what they needed in the "workshop" ...

Paul was pleased to use his "God-given" talent ...

Tyler ... a future pyrotechnician!!

Is it just me, or does he look like a "mad scientist"?
Haha, Paul ... just kidding ... your talent was a blessing to all!

Everyone was seated and ready for the show!!

There were many squeals of delight and even a few shrieks of fear!!

All eyes were to the sky!!

It was a wonderful opportunity to share something like this with The Ranch!

We also had a campfire and roasted marshmallows for anyone who wanted a S'more!!

A campfire is a great way to have "together time".

The kids all loved the S'mores, of course!

I just loved spending time with the little kiddos!!

Thank-you to our STAR S'mores-Builders ... they had a great system!!

It's good to have FUN ... even when you're serving the LORD!
