From February 28 through March 7, 2015, a team will provide for the physical needs, as well as the spiritual needs, of the Honduran people. Follow us as we document the preparations and the planning, the training and the team-building, the going and the growing as we serve the LORD Jesus, our One and Only Savior, and the people of Honduras.

Our 2012 and 2013 missions are here as well ...

Encouragement

Hola Friends ... oh, I should have said "Amigos y Amigas" ... !!

I really wanted to share this with you in hopes that you will know just how much of a blessing you are and how important you are because you have chosen to partner with us for our mission to Honduras later this year.  You probably already know who is writing this ... (it's me, Kimberly) ... and you might know too that I can be a tad overzealous!  No, ... really!!  Just to clarify, I looked up the word "overzealous" just to be certain.

Adj. 1. overzealous - marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea (thefreedictionary.com)

Yep!  That's me, alright!  I'm like that ... it's just the way I am and ... guess what?  It's probably not one of my characteristics with potential for change.  Some of you might be saying, "there's nothing wrong with that", but let me tell you, friends, ... there is, in fact, a downside to this because when other people are not just as overzealous as I am, it can be quite discouraging.

So, with the preparations and planning for this upcoming mission trip, I've had tons of ideas spilling out of my brain ... what kind of ideas?  Well, ... ideas for fundraising, ... ideas for sharing what we're doing with people we know and even don't know ... ideas for getting our church on-board and involved ... I have lots of ideas!  And I'm all "gung-ho" to implement them ... but I'm only one person (not a miracle-worker as Molly would say).

In my "overzealous-ness", I said our letters had to be done and sent ASAP ... I like to stay ahead of the game, you know ... so they were sent and we are doing well, we think.  But this really is not something we just do all by ourselves.  It takes a whole team ... a team consisting of GROUPS of DIFFERENT TYPES of people:

SEND-er  -  These are the people who organize and train teams and they are also the people who financially support missionaries.
GO-er  -  These are the people who "GO" to serve the LORD, whether it be to build homes, provide medical care, feed the hungry, or share the Gospel.
PRAY-er  -  These are the people who PRAY for anything and everything with regards to the "mission" and serving the LORD.

ALL of these people are vital to the success of a mission and, of course, a person can be more than one of these types at a time!

We are so grateful for the support that we have received, for the prayers that have been offered and for the contributions that have been given.  But, you know what? ... worry still has a way of sneaking up on us ... on me; it tries to steal my joy and my peace.  And then the "what if's?" start:
  • what if nobody else responds?
  • what if we come up short?
  • what if we don't do well with the fundraiser(s)?
And before you know it, the focus strays from bringing honor and glory to the LORD to something not nearly as significant ... numbers ... how many people?  how many partners?  how many dollars?  Have you ever felt as though you might suffocate from the "what if's?" and the "how many's?"  Well, on Monday of this week, that's how I felt ... pretty low ... pretty discouraged.

So, I prayed!

And do you know what?

We received an additional $250.00 in contributions that day, as well as additional mission partners!  I just love it when God works like that!  He is SO IN THE BUSINESS of encouraging me ... to read more about how my GOD encourages me, click here and here to read some wonderful God-encouraging stories (I think you'll enjoy them).

Friends ... Partners ... You are so important to us and to this mission to serve GOD in Honduras!  We pray for each of you and as we prepare for this, we hope that you feel as though you truly are a part of it and that you are alongside us as we serve and grow.  Thank-you, sincerely!
