Hey Everybody! Step right up and get your fresh, hot brats ... or burgers ... or pork sandwiches ... or the jumbo-EST hot dogs you've ever seen!!! Your purchase helps to support our mission trip to Honduras!
That's right! Last night was our "Brat Hut" funraiser! Paul, one of our team members stood at the entrance to the Piggly Wiggly practically the ENTIRE time and greeted customers and encouraged them to visit our event and/or help us out with a donation! Paul did a great job and his idea to stand there nearly doubled the amount of money we earned towards the mission trip!
This poster was loaned to us by former-Honduras-Mission-team members who are going again - pretty nice, huh?
Matt and Brian started out the grilling
Later, Brian kept the grill going so the meat stayed in supply
We were really excited to get our first customer!!!
Our good friends, Jen and Alex, started us off!
Thanks Guys!
My mommy was the second customer - her order was "TO-GO".
We hope that she and my dad were happy with their grilled dinner!
All of us who were there took part in serving and helping out with all the things that need to be done to run a Brat Hut!
*Disclaimer* We did not make the Frank's Brat Hut sign and we did not realize its condition~ I think we will make them a new sign (for sure if we use the Brat Hut again).
Each time we had new customers, it was pretty exciting!
Pastor Bob and Becky came by to enjoy some dinner!
It was great to have them share some time with us!
Brian and Pastor Bob ... having some deep "man" conversation ...
... look at all those customers ...
Here's Susan visiting with someone and talking about the mission trip to Hondruas; this woman just opened up her wallet and made a conribution. Praise the LORD!
Our dear friends, Stu and Janet, came for dinner too ... it was so nice to see them!!
Brian and one of our neighbors, Dave ~ thanks for coming out to support us, Dave!
The giant poster that was loaned to us for the event was a great talking piece!
Oh, ... isn't she cute? Claudia's ready to take your order!
Sarah, Nancy and Claudia ... a trio of team members
Way to go, girls!
The Brat Hut earned $222.00 and we received 2/3 of that, which equals $146.33. Franks Piggly Wiggly supplied all the food at no cost to us - it was really a great deal.
Pork Sandwiches = $3
Hamburgers = $2
Bratwursts = $2
Jumbo Hot Dogs = $2
Soda or Water = $.50
We also received another $126 in donations and/or tips so the grand total for our 3-hour event was $272.33 ... NOT TOO BAD!! We had a lot of fun and we were able to get out in our community to make our mission known and fellowship with our supporters!
And here's some important news ... !
This is Sarah!
She is one of our mission-team members and it was her birthday yesterday!
She is now 21-years-old!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!
This is Shirley! This is one great lady!!
She has been on mission to Honduras like more than a dozen times and she has gone there for months at a time!
She has a huge heart for missions and serving the LORD!
One way that she earns money for her trips is by selling jars of pickles and jellies that she makes ...
... and they are SO YUMMY!!! She makes Dill Pickles, Mixed-Vegetables (which are amazing - they are sweet and tangy and spicy, all in one) and she also make pickled beets (Mom, I got a jar for you) and Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and Blueberry Jam (Brian especially likes this one) and some others too!
These are very reasonably priced and also very delicious!!
If you would like to buy some of these from Shirley, you can let us know OR you can call Shirley directly at 262-348-9428.
